A few years ago, the idea that a publicly traded company might hold Bitcoin on its balance sheets seemed highly laughable. The flagship cryptocurrency was considered to be too volatile to be adopted by any serious business. Many top investors, including Warren Buffett, labeled the asset a “bubble waiting to pop.”
However, while Nakamoto was the original inventor of Bitcoin, as well as the author of its very first implementation, he handed the network alert key and control of the code repository to Gavin Andresen, who later became lead developer at the Bitcoin Foundation. Over the years a large number of people have contributed to improving the cryptocurrency’s software by patching vulnerabilities and adding new features.

Pi network cryptocurrency
Pi Network doesn’t have any notable partnerships. It has held a Pi Hackathon to kickstart development of Pi apps and an ecosystem. Winning projects and honorable mentions received funding in both U.S. dollars and PI coins.
Some people say it’s a scam because the coin has no value and the mainnet launch has not yet happened. However, those in favor of the project argue that Pi coin is legit. Since no money is needed to use the network, there’s nothing really to lose.
The hook for Pi is that you can mine it on your phone. Other cryptocurrencies that use mining, most notably Bitcoin (CRYPTO:BTC), require much more processing power, so most miners use specialized devices.

Cryptocurrencies offer a mix of opportunity and risk. While the market has matured and larger digital assets like bitcoin and Ethereum are now recognised as legitimate investments by professionals, investing in them remains volatile and complex.
A coin is a cryptocurrency that is the native asset on its own blockchain. These cryptocurrencies are required to pay for transaction fees and basic operations on the blockchain. BTC (Bitcoin) and ETH (Ethereum) are examples of coins.
For astute investors, crypto assets can be an interesting addition to a diversified portfolio. However, they require careful research, strong security practices and a strong stomach to weather the volatility they bring. The Australian Government is yet to introduce legislation to Parliament to regulate crypto markets, and until they do, it will remain a haven for scammers.
