The planned activities in the consultancy went on smoothly and the consultancy report was completed and accepted by the client without reservations.

• Designing and sharing the assessment plan, full methodology and the list of key contact persons and institutions.
• Carrying out the assessment and comparing the related benefits to the period prior and after the development and implementation of the national climate change policies, response strategies, and action plans.
• Conducting a climate change policy and strategy scan within the national context.
• Assessing, comparing and documenting the funds mobilized before and after the production and implementation of the policy, strategy and action plan on climate change and –
  • Determining the extent to which climate has been mainstreamed into national policies, strategies, action plans with a view to identifying the gaps and suggesting the way forward;
  • Identifying capacity gaps in terms of climate change and development planning at the two levels of Government
  • Discussing with relevant stakeholders on how climate change can be mainstreamed at the lower (county) level of Government.
• Producing and sharing the draft assessment report prior to the validation meeting.
• Mobilizing and organizing the stakeholders’ meeting with the logistical support from COMESA to review and validate the draft assessment report.
• Updating and producing the final assessment report.
